Sunday Secrets: 5 Things to Do for an Amazing Week Ahead

Sundays are my go-to days for catching up on household chores and, of course, squeezing in some Netflix binge-watching. But they’re also perfect for planning ahead and making sure the week kicks off on the right foot. I’ve got a few Sunday secrets that help me stay organized and keep things running smoothly as I head into the week, and I’m here to share them with you!

Plan your week.

Planning is a must to ensure the rest of your week goes as smoothly as possible. I love using planners, and right now, my favorite is this one.

If you’re working full-time during the week and constantly feel like there’s never enough time to get anything done, trust me, I get it! That’s why scheduling your week and organizing your to-do lists is a total game changer. One of my best Sunday secrets is using the Erin Condren planner to map out everything—trust me; it makes life so much easier. Even just starting with a monthly planner can help you regain control and get more done by turning those thoughts into real action. You’ll find yourself more motivated and productive once you get into the groove.

And don’t limit it to just household tasks—use your planner to schedule everything from social hangouts and gym sessions (if you’re into that) to doctor’s appointments, bill reminders, and whatever else you’ve got going on!

Clean up.

Having a clutter-free space is a game changer—it seriously makes you feel more motivated and productive throughout the week. But let’s be real, we’ve all looked at that massive pile of dishes stacked by the sink or that laundry mountain waiting to be put away, and it’s overwhelming. It’s enough to make you want to just give up because you don’t even know where to begin.

Here’s one of my Sunday secrets for tackling dishes: I sort everything by type first—plates in one stack, bowls in another, silverware in a container—then slowly make my way to the big stuff like pots and pans. Laundry? Same deal. I start small with socks and underwear, then work my way up to hanging the shirts and getting the rest sorted.

Oh, and don’t forget about your own space! Tidy up your room, not just the kids’ rooms, and make the bed while you’re at it. Bonus tip: turn on some music and make it a vibe while you clean!

Meal prep.

I know this is probably the most popular Sunday night routine suggestion out there, but honestly, there’s a reason for it! Grocery shopping and meal planning on Sundays is one of those Sunday secrets that can seriously save you so much time during the week.

If the idea of planning out your meals feels overwhelming, I totally get it. I’d suggest checking out Gobble if you’re looking for easy, affordable, and healthy meals. Their dinners are ready in 15 minutes, prep included! Plus, they’ve got new recipes every week, and you can pick from options like classic dinners, lean & clean meals, or vegetarian dishes. It’s a total game-changer that simplifies your life!

Practice self-care.

Taking time for self-care is seriously so important—it’s not just about pampering yourself, it’s about making sure you’re recharging your mind and body. Your self-care routine can be anything that makes you feel relaxed and refreshed, whether it’s curling up with a good book, binge-watching your favorite show, or indulging in a full-on at-home spa day. Personally, I love sharing my Sunday secrets for unwinding—there’s nothing like a face mask and a cozy bath to reset before the week kicks off.

Get a good night’s rest.

Getting a good night’s rest on a Sunday night is important to start the week off right. You’ll want your body performing at its best, so you need the rest. If you don’t sleep well on a Sunday night, you’re going to have a crappy Monday, and we all know how Mondays are!
